First haircut

Ryan had his first haircut today.  We went to Cool Cuts for Kids.  It was great.  He did wonderful.  I know that some may think he is too young for a haircut but he had hair growing over his ears and what some were calling a mullet in the back (I though even a little rat tail maybe)!!  Cool Cuts was great--he sat in a car and they played an Einstein video for him.  Ryan thought he was driving he kept turning the wheel and laughing then still for the most part.  Cool Cuts is great they took an after picture and saved a chunk of hair from the cut for me.  They then have a little display card that they put it all in and give it to you.  The only downside was we waited about 40 minutes for a ten minute hair cut-- oh well because of the job they did.  The cut looks good all nice and trim--little boy like!!!

Before--getting the smock on and then during the cut driving the taxi!!

Jello!

Michael made Ryan Jello-the jiggly kind this week.  We started with a lime flavor---so a good staining green.  Ryan loves it.  Ryan is very into feeding himself and really only likes to eat when he can participate in feeding.  So we have ended many meals this week a sticky but happy mess due to our jello.  We still have lots of jello to finish and then we will try some new flavor!!

9 Months

We went for our nine month appointment today.  I know I can't believe our baby is already nine months old!! He is getting so big.  Of Course Dr. Taylor said he looked great and all was good.  Now he is not as big as you think-- he weighed 19 lbs 8.7 oz. (only the 50%) he was 27 3/4 inches long (again only the 50%) his head was 43 3/4 cm (only the 25%).  He is right on track--his whole life he has weighed in at the 50%!! Even though he was born BIG he is right where he should be now.  Lots have changed in these months--we have four teeth ( 3 on bottom 1 on top) we army crawl everywhere, we are pulling up on anything that he can reach and we like to eat what mom and dad are eating vs. baby food.  It won't be long til we are one year old but until then here are some photos from this week.
Ryan pulling up on his walker and standing on it.  Not sure why his tongue is out but maybe that is how he concentrates.

Still wearing my longhorn PJs trying to get in the cabinet to get the soccer ball.

And then the most adorable face anywhere.  He was trying to get out the laundry room to the garage.

Rodeo

Well we went to the first Rodeo performance of the year--we went with Chris, Carrie and Reagan.  It was soo much fun. The kids loved looking at the animals and riding the big tractors.  Too bad it was sooo windy and cold outside because we couldn't do anything at the Carnival.  Ryan got his first cowboy hat--he loved it.  It was only hard carrying him in the hat.  We saw Tim McGraw and the actual rodeo--it was a late night but Ryan is a trooper.  He fell asleep during the chuck wagon races and slept until we got home. It was great--I can't believe he did that good with all the noise in Reliant Stadium.  I was glad because I enjoyed Tim McGraw!!

Just got my hat!!  Reagan on the tractor!!

Ryan loved the tractor he wanted to touch everything, he is a very noisy baby.

My first worm

Lets see we were outside watching Mike work on the flower bed-- a daily routine for our fresh air-- and Mike Found a worm.  Then he gave the worm to Ryan.  Ryan really enjoyed playing with the worm.  I was completely grossed out!! I guess I have to get used to having a boy and all those things that go with it.  Here are some pictures from the first experience with a worm.  Don't worry the worm was not harmed and managed to live through Ryan trying to smash him and pull him apart!!

This is my new face--I tuck my upper lip in--its way cute even with a worm in hand!!

Rodeo Run

Well as a family we did the Rodeo Run this morning.  It was lots of fun.  I walked with Stacy and Ryan (well he was in his Bjorn being carried) the 5k and Mike ran with Chris Gomez the 10k. (My mom also ran the 10k but we saw he after the run because she was faster than us!!)  It was a little warmer than expected but overall it was fun. Of course Ryan was a hit and I think people thought I was a little crazy for carrying him in a walk.  Oh well we had fun.
